Colors & Coordination
Colors & Coordination
Do your son and husband look great in blue? Do you and your daughter love green? Make the colors work for you – wear ones that you know you and your family look good in.
Neutrals (tan, grey, beige, white, etc.) with splashes of color are always a good choice.

Now you don’t want everyone wearing the exact same thing but you do want to coordinate. What I mean by that is – have everyone dress at same level of dressy. For example, no formal dresses for Mom and jeans for Dad – see what I mean?

What Do You Wear?
The number one rule is - Be Comfortable! Remember this session is about you and your family being yourselves. You don’t want uncomfortable clothes getting in your way!
We might be walking, sitting, moving and standing - wear something that makes you feel happy and comfy.
Props
If you have any important or fun family items that you would like to make part of your shoot, bring them along! In the past families have brought a special family blanket or the kiddos have brought their favorite stuffy.
When it comes to Littles - timing is everything!

Littles tend to be happiest in the mornings after a good night’s sleep. I usually suggest morning sessions for littles but if your little is a happy camper after their afternoon nap that will work too!

When should you schedule sessions for Littles?
Milestones are usually a good guide. Don’t feel like you have to follow the “normal” 3,6,9,12 month schedule. Think about what your little is accomplishing – are they smiling? Playing with their toes? Sitting, crawling, walking – you get the picture. :)
